Costume designing

I love Halloween!!

My five year old and I have been discussing his costume this year. As he told my friend, "We are still working out the details." ha ha

Anyway, I want him and his younger brother to be pirates.

I know a good costume when I dream it up. My daughter has had some great ones! I should dig out the pics and add them. She was a birthday party table one year, and other than having to sit by herself so as not to hurt anyone, it was awesome! Here's one of my daughter and nephews, they were THE power rangers, and everyone knew it!!

One of the last years she dressed up, which seems like ages ago (sob, sob) she was an oompa loompa. Yes, I'm definitely going to find those pics and post them. Of course I can't tell her I'm doing it. Maybe I'll add the first place winner Tin Man costume I was one year. That should help her accept the exposure...

Anyway, back to my sons. They, with the help of everywhere you look, want to be Star Wars characters. My youngest, who is all of 35 inches tall wants to be chewbacca. (so what if that's spelled wrong, if you can't spell it, you shouldn't be it for Halloween) Brendan simply wants to be darth vader (again, skip the spelling, I know I can look it up, but that's not the point of this story)

Yesterday, we were discussing this very subject and we came up with the Pirates of the Force series of costumes...How about Chewbacca with a peg leg. Or Bluebeard Mull? A hook on either c3p0 or R2D2 would be just fine...Add a hook, and it's all good! Alright, right before quitting, that sounded funnier, either way, this year will be loads of fun.

The first thing I'm moving to the new house is the Halloween decorations, it kills me that I'm not already displaying them!

We made so many new things last year, and purchased several things at last year's after holiday sales at the craft store that we are going to add! woohoo!

I love Halloween...

My oldest were Batman and Robin when they were about 3 and 5 years old.

Their mother made the costumes and they were awesome.

Robin (my son Jack) decided he could trip over his cape 3 times before it was time for it to come off.

I am making a Transformers costume for my 5 year old, I've been working steadily on this thing for 3 weeks. So far, it looks good.

But why oh why don't they make Transformers costumes you can BUY instead???

I'll have to post a pic or two when I'm done.

I am so not creative. I am thanking my lucky stars that my daughter wants to be a princess. Again. :) I am hoping my sons just want to go as sticks or something. Sigh.

You're a good mom!

The robot suit is almost done. I'm even putting in a robot "voice changer" mechanism in the suit, microphone inside his robot helmet.

He'll say "trick or treat" in his robotic voice and freak out the other kids, I hope.

Why do my hands smell of silicone glue?

Well, is there something a little weird going on here? I don't know about you Theresa, but my blog gets pretty cluttered with spammy comments from people. My advice to you as one blog owner to another, is to be patient and focus on the great things about having a blog, instead of all the junk that goes on. You do have a quality blog and appears that you enjoy it. My favorite web project so far is a new surfboards site, because I have total control and it makes me a couple dollars here and there. It's pretty hard to find new information on new surfboards stuff though. Hey, keep up your excellent job Theresa, and good luck with your projects..

See ya ~
